Where in the world is the Lindstrom Family?

Well, since it has been so long since I posted, I have a lot to update you on. As many of you know our orders to move to Florida in Febuary were cancelled a few weeks before we were supposed to move. Then, we found out that we were moving to Fort Polk, Louisiana (yes an Army base... since Tim is in weather he can be stationed at any Air Force or Army base). We were extremely upset when we found out, and DID NOT want to go to LA. Despite trying everything we could to get out of it, we were told that we had to go. So, we decided to think positive and make the best of it.

On April 5th, we left Tucson on route to Fort Polk. We stopped in San Antonio for a fun trip to Sea World. Then, it was on to LA. Fort Polk is located just across the Texas border in central Louisiana. The closest town is Leesville, which has a population of about 6,000. The base population is bigger than that. LOL!

Anyway, we arrived and got a house on base right away. It is the nicest miliary house we have ever had! It is 4 bedrooms and was completely renovated before we moved in, so everything is new. I will post pictures of the inside of our house as soon as we finish unpacking and settling in.

Tim started work, and everyone here is sooo nice. The wives get together all the time... I have been to at least 4 functions in the month we have been here, and we are having lunch today and a dinner on Saturday night.

Kailey started school and it is going well. She wears a uniform, and looks just adorable. She rides a bus to and from school, and the bus stop is just at the end of our street. Also, she gets to eat both breakfast and lunch at school. Alexis and Megan will both start school in August. It is going to be so strange with only Zoey and I at home from 7am to 3:30pm everyday!

So, we have realized that coming here to Fort Polk was a huge life lesson for us. We thought it would be awful, but it has turned out to be great! We hope we continue to enjoy our time here!

P.S. I went back and posted about everything we have been doing, so scroll down until you get to the March 14th post to see all the new stuff!
