Busy Busy!

We have been so busy lately, and I haven't posted in awhile... so I have added lots of stuff from the past month. Kailey just finished school, and dance and Daisy Scouts are on a break, so we have a few weeks where hopefully we will catch up on everything that seems to get put off. LOL!

I have been working really hard at my business, and it is really coming along. I have a Yahoo group that I use to let my customers know when I have new clipart, and I have 128 members in the group now. If you guys want to see when I add new clipart you can join also, just make sure you choose Special notice for the email option... otherwise you will get all the emails from the group members. If you choose special notice then you will just get the updates from me. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/6BusyBeesClipart/

Also, I have a few videos to add later (the dance recital and Kailey's graduation). Our sound on the computer isn't working right now, so I can't edit them and add them to the blog. I will add them when I get it figured out!

I started my own business!

I have been working for awhile now at creating my own business and website. I am so excited that I finally finished it! My website is www.6busybees.com, and I am selling clipart designed specifically for businesses who make embroidery designs (although they can be used for other purposes as well, like scrapbooking). I have had a lot of people looking at the website since I finished it on Saturday night. I have had 813 hits to the website so far, from all over the world, including: China, Russia, Argentina, Brazil, Iceland, Puerto Rico, Finland, Sweeden, Denmark, Germany, France, Switzerland, Netherlands, lots in South Africa, Australia, Canada and the UK, as well as some others. I am really excited about the response.

I thought that I would explain a little more about my business, and the easiest way to do that is through pictures. I made a shirt for Kailey to wear during her report on the Spectacled Bear, so I am using this to explain the process.

Step 1. Hand draw the image.

Step 2. Scan the image into the computer and use software to make into a clipart file.

Step 3. Import the file into an embroidery software and convert it into an embroidery file.

Step 4. Send the embroidery file to the embroider machine, and stitch it onto your fabric, t-shirt, etc.

I can do all of these steps, and do for many of the items I make for the girls and other family and friends. For my business, I do the first 2 steps and then sell the clipart file. Then, anyone who wants to do steps 3 and 4 buys my clipart and completes the process. A lot of the people who will buy my clipart will do step 3, and then sell their finished embroidery file to other people who like to embroider.
