Kailey's Girl Scout Rededication Ceremony

Kailey is starting her 3rd year in Girl Scouts (1 as a Daisy and this is her 2nd as a Brownie). Her troop had a rededication ceremony today.

They each got to light one of the candles (it was a little electric candle that they just had to twist on).

Then they held up signs to spell out Brownies, and Kailey was the exclamation point!

At the end they did the friendship circle to close out their meeting.

Look who made the Honor roll again! Zoey wanted to get in the picture with Kailey too!

Alexis' School Project

For homework, Alexis had to put stuff about her on the cutout of her. She chose a picture of our family, and of Harley, a colored picture of Ariel, some Daisy scout petals and a plant (because she did that at her meeting), her favorite animal, an Elephant, a cross, a flag from New Mexico (where she was born), a Disney and Hannah Montana sticker, a Wii, a painter, and some musical instruments (she wants to be a rockstar!).

Alexis' First Daisy Scout Meeting

Alexis had her first Girl Scout meeting today... she is a Daisy scout this year, and she is sooooo excited. The girls went to Lowes where they planted flowers.

Daddy, Zoey and Megan watched, while I took lots of pictures. :)

Alexis had a headache, so she used my cold gel eye mask. Here she is hanging out with Daddy and Zoey.

A frog I found on the outside of our house, and I had to take a picture to show the girls when they got home from school. I love the stickers they put on bananas now. Tim got this one in particular because it was perfect for Zoey. In case it is hard to read, it says "Place sticker on forehead. Smile."

We went back to Catfish Cove today... no fishing, but a nice picnic in the park next to the water. Notice Megan being silly again! LOL There is also a fun place for the kids to play.

Here on post they have a place called Catfish Cove, where the kids can go fishing. The girls have been asking a lot when we could go, so we decided to take them. Ashley and Aaron went with us. Unfortunately we didn't catch any fish, but the girls still enjoyed themselves!




Lately, Megan will not smile for a picture, she is always doing something silly instead.

Hurricane Gustav

Well, we made it through our first Hurricane evacuation, as we prepared for Gustav. Fortunately it wasn't too bad by the time it got here to Fort Polk. We did evacuate to the buiding where Tim works, since he had to be there as the storm approached, and also because they had generators for when the power went out.
